Brief Itinerary
Day 01 Arrival at Leh

Arrival at Leh airport, to be received by our representative and transferred to the Hotel. Check in to the hotel for a complete day of rest wherein welcome tea and coffee will be served by the Hotel. Lunch will be served at 2.00 PM, after lunch visit Leh Market, Leh Palace, Sankar Monastery and Shanti Stupa. Overnight Hotel.

Day 02 A Complete day of visit to the monasteries (104 Kms)

After breakfast drive to visit the Shey Palace, Thiksey, Hemis monasteries and Stok Palace Museum. Packed or Hot Lunch will be provided. Return to Leh in the evening. Overnight Hotel.

Day 03 Leh to Khardong La to Leh (5570 Mtrs) 78 Kms

Drive for Khardongla Pass, which is the World’s highest motorable road ranging at 5570 Mtrs. Return to Leh in the afternoon, and enjoy a Hot Lunch at the hotel. After Lunch one is free to explore the local market at one’s disposal. Overnight Hotel.

Day 04 Departure at Leh Airpot

Transfer to the airport and fly back to Delhi with Sweet Memories of Ladakh.

      Best Time to arrive:

      Travelers across the world should be well aware of when to be at a certain destination to make the most of the trip. The best time to visit Leh is during the period of April to October. Rest all depends on the expedition or the trip you have decided to be on. For expeditions the best time starts from June till the ending of October. If you are specifically focused on Chadar Trek , this happens to be during January while the ice sheet covers the whole path. While a traveler can be on the journey throughout the year, but by the ending November the whole place gets covered with snow. Only if you have opted for the Likir to Khaltsey Trek , you can go on the expedition without any delay and delusions.       Population and Altitude:

      Inhabited by the races of Tibetan and Indo Aryan people, it comprises 2.74 Lakhs of Population on an altitude of 18,875 ft above sea level. As Leh stands tall at an altitude of 11,562 ft , it becomes necessary for the tourists to get acclimatized to this altitude, for avoiding any kind of sickness to prevail later.

      Climatic Conditions:

      The weather fine and warm during the day making it around 16°C and approx 3°C, making it a bit chilled by the night hours. It’s soothing and pleasant during the months of June through September. The highest it can go to 35 C during summers. Talking about winters, it can go around -30C (minus) during the hard cold winters, making this winter wonderland all white.

      Permits, Visas and Restrictions:

      No need of any special visa, the normal visas are liable for your permission in the city of Leh , Ladakh. Foreign nationals flying down at the airport need to get themselves registered at the airport itself and those who are coming by any other vehicular means need to get registered at Drass, Rumtse and Sarchu. For the wildest expeditions like Pangong , Dhahahu, Tsomoriri , Tsokar, Nubra Valley , both Indians as well as International Visitors need to get the permit by the registered travel agencies.

      Currencies:

      The currency used at Ladakh is INR (Indian National Rupees). You can get your currency converted into INR by authorized agencies and credit cards are accepted by all the authorized agents with a service charge by 2.5%.

      Accommodations:

      From Hotels to Guest Houses, you will have suitable accommodations according to your pockets.

      Food:

      Indian, Continental, Tibetan, Chinese to the local ladakhi food. One will get everything in food according their taste buds.

      What to bring along during the travel:

      Ruck Sacks

      :

      Carry two sacks, one for all your clothing thus safeguarding you from rain and dust, other ruck sack for small items like water bottles , cameras and other petty items. According to the climate, you can lend the sleeping bag(Summer sleeping Bag, Winter Sleeping Bag) from the local travelling stores at Leh.

      Clothes:

      The clothes to be carried are according to the climatic conditions. For summers, tees and shorts are fine keeping a pullover or a sweatshirt handy. For winters keep a jacket, gloves and other warm accessories handy.

      Shoes

      During the summers, pair of slippers are going to do the needful , for it being winters keep some waterproof shoes with you and a pair of slippers if trekking through some water bodies.

      Communication Services :

      Internet Services are available in the capital town ,Leh. Postal Services are available with a rate of 8/- INR for a simple Postcard. 15/- INR for Airmail and 8.50 /- INR Aerogramme to the countries of Austraila, Europe , Japan and USA. The post to be send should not exceed 20 grams . Telecommunication through Telephone and fax are available at Leh, Padum, Kargil And Nubra.

      Cabs:

      Local taxis /cabs are to be hired in order to do the local sightseeing by the tourists. However you are free to travel by your own cars.

      Plastic Bags:

      Ladakh is the only place in India where the plastic bags are officially banned. Please take care of the surroundings, if you traveling to this beautiful town.

      Drinking Water:

      Water to be consumed should be boiled. At the main market of Leh , Dzoumsa Laundry provides you with boiled water for your trekking and expeditions . So keep the warm water bottles handy whenever you are on the travel towards Leh, Ladakh.
