Being on the tour from the shores of Dal Lake to the shores of Pangong is worth an experience. You are going to love this trip due to the varations of vicinity from day to day. One gets to capture the scenery of both the heavens on this Earth, Srinagar and Ladakh that too within a single trip . This exciting tour begins from the summer capital of the state - Srinagar and ends within Himalayan landscape of Ladakh. During the journey of 7 nights and 8 days, visit the breathtakingly beautiful Pangong and Dal lake, the charming valleys of Sonamarg and Nubra and the local bazaars of both the cities.
As you move towards Srinagar, get going to the hotel that has been assigned to you. Get well acquainted with the climatic conditions of the Srinagar city. Reserve the former part of the day for taking rest so that you feel more energetic and enthusiastic for the later hours of the day. Catch some sightseeing as its afternoon. Visit the famous lake of Dal and have a shikara ride. by the evening move o the heartbeat of Srinagar- Lal Chowk . If you want to purchase something, you can do so from the same market. Other popular spots are the Mughal Gardens of Nishat, Shalimar and Harwan. At the end of the day, get some sleep in your hotel, post your dinner.
After you are done with your breakfast in the morning, get going towards the sector of Kargil. Since there are many routes that descend into Kargil but the most commonly used and beautiful is via the valley of Sonmarg. The traveling distance from Srinagar to Kargil sector is about 294 km which concludes by the end of 9 hours. You are going to witness the lush green meadows of Sonamarg and Drass too. The word Sonamarg means, Sona- Gold and marg- way/ path, hence it means the path of Gold.
Post your brunch, kickstart your travel and reach the largest town of Ladakh- Leh. It takes a maximum of 8 hours to cover up the distance from Kargil- Leh. Green mountains snow-capped all over the range, the clouds encircling the Cyprus trees that are placed over the peaks and the rocky terrains is what the journey would be all about. You are even going to see the marvelous rivers through the trip- Zanskar and Indus along with the infamous Magnetic Hill, Gurudwara Pather Sahib, and Lamayuran Moon Land.Once you reach Leh overnight have a stay in the hotel at Leh.
This day is reserved for the sightseeing in the city of Leh. Ladakh has got so much to offer to you that is unimaginable for a common person to even guess about its offerings. You can go around the central market of Leh to get some art and craft stuff as a memory. And later stroll through the magnificent monasteries, Royal palaces, towns, and forts. Some of the notable places to visit are- Alchi, Likir, Leh Palace, Pathar Sahib Gurudwara, Sangam Point, Stok Palace, Hall of fame, Shanti Stupa. Later in the evening get back to your restrooms at the hotel and stay there for the night.
Nubra valley was once the popular route for trading that took place between India and China. This valley has acquired its fame due to its overall splendid look. Its beauty is distinguished from the rest of the valleys that are grounded in Leh.Maitreya Buddha statue is the prominent sight of Nubra Valley which is maintained by the Diskit Monastery. The main access to the Nubra Valley is though Khardung La pass. This road is open throughout the year. This pass is the second highest motorable road in the world standing at an altimeter of 17,582 ft. Stay overnight in this valley of captivating Nubra.
Get done with your morning meals and move towards the other beautiful site for the day- Pangong Lake.This lake is so amazing that you may find solace while sitting along the shores of this Lake. From Nubra Valley move into Agham village. From there descend into the village of Shyok. Moving ahead you move into the landscape of Pangong Tso. Pangong lake is situated at an altimeter of 14,270 ft. People having the first glance at it almost thought it to be a hypothetical spot. To reach this dreamlike destination you need to cover up 90 km from Nubra Valley. spend night in you cozy rooms at Hotel.
After a great day of sightseeing yesterday, you need to revert from the charismatic Pangong Lake after you freshen up and are done with your meals. Quick start the journey for the day covering about 150 km. The time needed to cover up this distance is about 5 hours to be precise. On your way back, you can visit some of the monuments, for instance, the majestic Thiksey Monastery. As you arrive in the city, head towards your hotel and stay overnight in the warm and cozy room.
Finally the day arrives on which you need to go back to your hometown and say goodbye to leh. Catch your flight in the early hours of the day to reac your destination soon. The trip that has just got over would make you feel as if you have achieved something.
