Ladakh is being called the land of high passes due to high elevated summits that are in its vicinity. One such summit is Chumser Kangri Summit. The flora and fauna, impressive monasteries, valleys lying beneath are what this mountaineering has got to offer you. Chamser Kangri, the desired summit is positioned at an altitude of 21725.72 Ft above the sea level. Every year many tourists get along with this trek and arrive in Leh. The base village of this trekking is one of the noted sites in Ladakh, Tso Moriri. This freshwater lake is situated at an elevation of 15,000 ft.and looks splendid along with the landscape. The parent range Changthang is owned by the people of Tibet and practice Buddhism in large numbers. During this alpinism visit some of the incredible dales on the way - Tso moriri, Peldo, and Skyurchu.
One must reach Leh to start off with the Chumser Kangri Trekking expedition. As soon as you decide to make it to Chumser Summit, fly down to the capital city of Ladakh to accomplish the journey in your head. Deplane at the Airport and march towards the hotel allocated. After taking some rest at the hotel, move out and get some sight-seeing in one of the ancient towns of Ladakh. If you are jetlagged and can't move around on the same day, nevermind, the following day is reserved for the sightseeing and for getting assimilated to the climate of Leh. The overnight stay takes place in respective Hotel rooms. The hotels in Leh are quite reasonable and readily accessible
As soon as its a new day, tune-up with the aura of Leh and its altruistic people. One feels joy within, after meeting such kind-hearted people in an appealing environment. A person can even have a look around of the decades-long heritage sites. There happen to be Buddhist monasteries, some royal palaces, River Zanskar and a lot more to see. With this, a person gets well versed with the climatic and oxygen conditions of Ladakh. Overnight halt takes place in the warm rooms of the hotel.
Post breakfast move towards one of the best sights in Ladakh, Tso moriri. This popular spot is not only well-known for its marvelous landscape but also due to the phenomenal Tso moriri Lake. This freshwater lake is famous among the tourists who fly down to Ladakh and is also among the list of attractions in Ladakh. Durin the trek to Chumser Kangri you are going to encounter some prominent settlements of Ladakh namely Karu, Upshi, Kumdok, Kere, Chumathang, Mahe, Sumdo and finally the village of Korzok owning the landscape of Tso Moriri. The distance needed to cover for the day is 240 km from Leh to the landscape of Tso moriri. Crossing Indus river, you tend to move into the campsite and go around the captivating lake for the latter part of the day. This lake is even named as the "mountain lake" as the lake is fed by springs and melting snow from neighboring mountains. Tsomoriri lake is at an altitude of 14,836 ft and the largest of the high-altitude lakes in the country. Later, the trek from tso moriri towards Peldo le. Peldo le happens to be located at an elevated height of 14,833 feet and this place will be the halting spot for the night.
Following the appetizing breakfast, kickstart the voyage and get going on the trail heading towards Skyurchu. You need to move from Peldo, located at an elevated height of 14,833 ft to Skyurchu which stands at an altimeter of 14,960.63 ft. A total number of hours needed to complete the days task is less than the previous day. One is going to reach the maximum of 5 hours in total. The night will be well spent at the campsite of Skyurchu. The landscape and the lake surrounding the small settlement of Skyurchu is worth catching a glimpse.
On this day you need to move towards the Basecamp of Chumser Kangri Summit and have a contingency and assimilation on the day that follows. It takes a maximum of 6 hours to arrive at the base camp by the time its dusk. The Chumser Summit basecamp is located at an altitude of 16,700 ft above the sea level. Overnight stay takes place inside the tents at the campsite.
As soon as you are up, freshen up and take your meals. Post meals, get along with the other members and trail your way towards the higher basecamp at the end of the day. You need to move from base camp to higher basecamp which stands at an elevation of 18,700 ft. As the evening befalls move into your respective tents placed at the campsite and have a nap to feel more energetic and enthusiastic by the next day which also is your day at the summit.
Finally, the day arrives on which you are going to be at the apex of Chumser Kangri summit. You need to have your morning meals in the former hours of the day and then head towards the desired spot Chumser Kangri. You need to have an epic climbing to reach the summit at the end o the day. If you not able to carry your luggage along, you can hire a porter that would help you in carrying your baggage till you reach the summit. This summit is at an altitude of 21725.72 ft above the sea level. Have a lifetime experience on this straight-forward peak and click some pictures around to lock them up in your valuable possessions. On the same day, you need to head back and arrive at Basecamp by the time is dusk. An Overnight halt again takes place inside the tents at the higher basecamp.
This day is reserved for you to have an inclined walk towards the Basecamp, lowered at an altitude of 16,700 ft. After you are done with your breakfast you need to begin the journey of going back to the first leg of the trail. The starting point of the revert trail moves from Higher Basecamp to the Basecamp. The night stay takes place inside the tents at the camping site.
After you get stuffed with the morning meals, commence your days journey by walking towards Peldo from Basecamp. You will witness some steep inclinations along the trail to Peldo. As soon as you reach Peldo, try exploring a little more of the landscape and hereafter take a drive to Leh. Check into your hotel rooms and stay there for the rest of the hours. Overnight takes place in the hotel.
Bid adieu to Leh by boarding the plane at International airport and have a picturesque view from the plane of those gigantic heap of mountains and settlements that take a shape of matchsticks placed under the roof of clouds.
You shall be advised of the current situation, weather and other conditions of the tour before departure.
P.S :This trek is not for the beginners keeping their safety in mind.
