Motor bike trip to himalayas of ladakh

The Kashmir valley for centuries has been called the 'Heaven on Earth'. Biking in daunting Ladakh is considered one of the most adventurous biking tours of the world which passes through many highest passes of the world. Ladakh particularly is a spiritual realization of a dream. Here the brown mountains break into fantasy colors - as you look closer at the bright green oasis around villages in the river valleys. Centuries old monasteries, perched over rock cliffs, cradle the ancient traditions of mystical Buddhism, exquisite frescoes and priceless thangkas. This highest cold desert in the world is a journey of self-discovery at altitudes exceeding 12000 ft above mean sea level. You pass the deep river gorges as you explore to the world's highest motorable pass- the Khardung-La. This route is surely one of the toughest motorcycle rides anywhere in the world. The Viktorianz bring you a ride that would leave you mesmerized. A life changing journey it will be. Did you know that the road leading to Ladakh is the same trail that was used by caravans going to the Silk Route centuries and centuries ago? If this isnt awe inspiring enough, the roads leading into the region are only open four months of the year for the remaining eight, they are covered in snow. For many riders, the highlight of bike tours to Leh Ladakh is Khardung-La, the highest motorable road in the world. To pass from Leh into the Nubra Valley, you will need to drive your motorcycle along a road that sits at 18,380 feet. It is surely an exhilarating experience.

Your flight from Delhi would be an early morning one. On this day when you arrive Leh by air you would witness one of the most beautiful sights of Leh valley amidst the spectacular Himalayan peaks. We shall receive you at airport and take you to your hotel. This day you take it easy - its 10,000 ft and you need to acclimatise to get used to low oxygen levels. So take this day at leisure. Otherwise just walk around the unique Leh market; no exertions today.

Solid riding skills, a sense of adventure and flexibility are a must when taking part in our Himalayan motorcycle expedition, which covers around hundreds of kilometers and considerable altitude differences. The road conditions in Ladakh route vary from freshly-paved to rough tracks. While we never actually leave the road, off-road skills can come in handy on some of the tracks that we will ride on. It's also important to note that it's virtually impossible to predict the weather and road conditions in the Himalayas during the months in which the rest of India is experiencing the monsoon. Landslides and abrupt weather changes can force us to change our bike tour program on very short notice. You can certainly look forward to great biking adventure. Adjusting to the altitude in Ladakh in the Indian Himalayas starts in Leh at 3,500 meters, so it will be essential to take a couple of days to adjust to the altitude. In our experience, everyone will have recovered from any mild altitude-related symptoms - headaches, dizziness or sleeplessness - by then. In the past ten years, we haven't had any cases of true altitude sickness among any of the participants of the similar Zanskar & Ladakh bike trip. *In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be cancelled or change of dates might happen, and in such cases the operator will try his best to provide an alternate feasible activity. However no refund will be provided for the same.
