This infamous trekking commences from the ancient gompa valley – Lamayuru to Chilling. The base village of the frozen trek also happens to be from the place of Chilling. This memorable trek starts with one arriving at Leh, the capital city of Ladakh. As soon as you arrive in the city, check into the hotel that has been assigned to you. Get in tune with the hustle and the bustle of the city by the time its evening. Overnight stay happens to be at your respective hotel rooms. Get some sightseeing on the following day as Ladakh has got some extraordinary sights. One can have a great time seeing the ancient artistry of Ladakh and try hands over the local cusines.
Leh is the busiest city in Ladakh, being the official and also the commercial capital of Ladakh. One eventully gels-up with the surrounding of and can stroll across the market of Ladakh. You can also visit some of the famous local places and get to know the city well. Visit some of the noted sites like- Shanti Stupa, Central Asian Museum, Leh palace, Gurduwara Pathir Sahib and Hall of Fame. All of these sites look magnificient on their first glimpse. The art and arcitecture of Ladakh is prominent by these monuments. Its more than what people tend to read in the books.Later by the day, move into your hotel room and have a sound sleep.
Once you are awake, freshen up and move out of your hotl and drive towards the popular spot of Lamayuru. After a comfortable 3 hour drive from Leh, you can visit the local monasteries in Lamayuru, being one of the most important landmarks in the history of Ladakh.The eternal Monastary of Lamayuru has been the most ancient Monastry of the Tibetan religion people of Ladakh. This magnificient monastary is situated over a small hill whiich includes some wall paintings and the statue of Buddha inside. The further trek will lead you to Wanla.� Wanla is a sub-monastery of Lamayuru and beautiful in its own way. Therefore stay overnight at the campsite in Wanla.
Get stuffed for the day and head on the trail towards Hinju. Hinju is the site that needs to be reached by the end of the day. This five-hour trek, consist of many charming villages and beautiful landscapes. Hinju is a village that is most noticed for its beautiful meadows and surrounding mountains. As you move deep into the gorges till you reach the shila village.Later on, have an easy brisk walk to the village of Wanla. A stay in the meadows of Hinju is one of the most pleasing experiences in the trek.
Tpday you need to take the trail that takes you to Kongskil La and later on to Sumda Doska. This trek gets concluded after a total of 6 hours. You will have to ascend to Kongskil La Pass from the village of Hinju at first. This means enjoying the view of many beautiful mountain ranges in the valley. This part of the trek is most exciting of all due to the nature of the trek. Its a moderate level of trek which does not include much topsy turvy curves. Finally your trail ends up at sumda doska, which will be your camp for tonight.
This five-hour trek consists of the crossing of rivers and visiting the village of sumdo chenmo. After that, you will have to ascend to the base of dung dung chan la. This consist of huge and magnificent mountains. On this day you need to cross couple of rivers that later ascend into the Dung Dung La Base .Camping at dung dung chan La Base ends of the day along with the sound of nature. These sounds tend to make you fall asleep after completing a day's trekking.
When this day arives, make your self mentally prepared for the last leg of this alpinism. This is a five-hour trek in which you will descend down to chilling from the baseccamp that you whad vistited the previous day. From here you will be comfrortably driven to Leh by the time its dusk. The day will mark the end of your memorable and adventurous trek for you to remember forever.
