Overview

Natural beauty lying within the state of Himachal Pradesh is worth witnessing once in a lifetime. The small hill stations that lie within the interiors of H.P is what this place is all about. The famous hill sights that are covered in this tour package are Dalhousie, Khajjar and Kalatop. Dalhousie is a very beautiful and magnificient tourist spot elevated at 1,970 m. This place has got some kind of authetic magnetism that attract many tourists to this spot throughout the year.

Brief Itinerary
D1: Delhi to Dalhousie

The tour starts from the country capital- Delhi. You need to travel in a Volvo convenience from Delhi to Dalhousie. The distance needed to be covered is 341km which needs to be traveled for around 7 hours. You need to travel overnight in a Volvo to reach the Mini Switzerland - Dalhousie by the next day. The sights en route are worth taking a glimpse. The valleys, the roads, the farmlands, should be experienced once in a lifetime. Overnight stay would be in the Volvo.

D2: Arrive in Dalhousie and Sightseeing

As you arrive at Dalhousie, take rest in the former hours of the day. Stroll the local market of Dalhousie and catch some sightseeing. You can pay a visit at the ancient palace of Jandhrighat , Subhash Bowli, Bara Pathar, Panjphula, Subhash Chowk, Satdhara and the historic churches of Dalhousie made during British colonial rule. You can even catch a glance of GPO Dalhousie and have the Gulab Jamun at Well- known Cafe Dalhousie. Overnight will be at the hotel of Dalhousie.

D3: Dalhousie to Khajjiar to Dalhousie

Take a comfy drive towards Khajjiar which is for about 1 h 2 min thus covring 21.7 km. You need to take the route of Dalhousie - Chamba Road to arrive at Khajjiar which stands at an elevation of 1,920 m. Halt at Kalatop to visit the popular Kalatop WildLife Sanctuary . From kalatop, reach further to Khajjiar. The famous sights of this landscape is Khajji Nag Temple,Panchpula Waterfalls,Khajjiar Lake, Dainkund Peak etc. You can even try other activities like Horse riding, Zorbing or Globe riding and many others. Revert to Dalhousie from Khajjiar and stay there overnight.

D4: Dalhousie -Delhi

Post a tempting meals, head towards the capital, Delhi. The distance needed to be covered is 341km which needs to be traveled for around 7 hours. You need to travel overnight in a Volvo to arrive at Delhi.Move through the same route as on the first day of this trip. Overnight stay would be in the Volvo.

    Himachal Pradesh has two narrow gauge Rail tracks i.e. Kalka to Shimla and Pathankot to Jogindernagar. On both these lines run the mini trains, popularly called 'Toy Trains' by the tourists. Travelling on these trains is a thrilling experience as the lines, trains and the landscape of charming hills, tunnels and bridges and valleys, which one encounters on the way leaves a lasting impression of ecstasy and joy.

    Ensure that your vehicle is securely locked before you leave it. Don't leave cash or jewellery in your vehicle.

    Shop at Government emporiums. Prices are reasonable and quality assured. Himachal Emporium outlets are located at Bilaspur, Chamba, Dharamshala, Mandi, Kullu, Keylong, Reckong Peo, Nahan, Solan, and Shimla. Outside the state, these are at New Delhi, Bangalore and Chandigarh. You can also buy directly from craftsmen located throughout Himachal. But if you plan to carry them overseas, do take a receipt for customs.

    For electrical appliances, check voltage, 220 V is the standard in the state. Socket type-two pin/three pin.,

    Normal banking hours are 10.00 am to 2.00 pm from Monday to Fridays, and 10.00 am to noon on Saturday. Some banks also have eveningcounters but these rarely deal in foreign currency. Banks remain closed on Sunday and gazette holidays.

    It is advisable to cover yourself with travel insurance for theft,loss and medi-claim.

    Unleaded petrol is available at selected stations only.

    Do not leave your cash and valuables in your hotel rooms. Keep your cash divided in different pockets.

    Do not trust strangers.

    During the monsoon season (July-August), be careful while driving on the road because of slippery conditions and land-slides/ rock-falls.

    Sunscreen and moisturizing lotion

    Himachal Pradesh is cold and as you know cold air can make your skin feel extremely dry, remember to carry moisturizing lotion with you. Kids are generally more prone to dry skin due to cold weather; therefore, it is essential to carry your personal favorite moisturizer. Same goes for sunscreen lotion. Snow reflects sunlight and even intensifies it, so it’s helpful to wear sunscreen when you head outdoors.

    Warm clothes

    Himachal Pradesh is colder than states in the south and west of India throughout the year. Due to the low temperatures in this region, it is important for you to pack heavy sweaters, thermal innerwear, and woolen socks on your trip to Himachal.

    ID proofs

    When traveling to Himachal, it is always a good idea to have your government-issued ID proofs handy. You may be asked to produce them at any point, but to ensure a stress-free holiday, remember to carry your PAN card, Aadhar card, driver’s license, or any other ID card.

    Appropriate shoes

    Considering your itinerary and the weather conditions of Himachal when you are traveling there, do pack appropriate shoes. You may have to walk a lot for sightseeing or trekking on hilly terrain, therefore, choose the most suitable walking shoes to bring along.

    Medication
