Manali Leh Bike Tour

A bike ride to Leh, Ladakh passes through some of the most breathtaking, challenging and awe-inspiring landscapes found on Earth. But by any means it is not an easy ride since most parts of the road are at altitudes of 12,000 feet and above in the Himalayas. In addition, the number of miles one can cover in a day depends on the road and weather conditions and the few places one can stay enroute. Ladakh particularly is a spiritual realisation of a dream. Here the brown mountains break into fantasy colours - as you look closer at the bright green oasis around villages in the river valleys. Centuries old monasteries, perched over rock cliffs, cradle the ancient traditions of mystical Buddhism, exquisite frescoes and priceless thangkas. This highest cold desert in the world is a journey of self-discovery at altitudes exceeding 12000 ft above mean sea level. You pass the deep river gorges as you explore to the world's highest motorable pass- the Khardung La. This route is surely one of the toughest motorcycle rides anywhere in the world. The Viktorianz bring you a ride that would leave you mesmerised. A life changing journey it will be. Did you kow that the road leading to Ladakh is the same trail that was used by caravans going to the Silk Route centuries and centuries ago? If this isnt awe inspiring enough, the roads leading into the region are only open four months of the year for the remaining eight, they are covered in snow. For many riders, the highlight of bike tours to Leh Ladakh is Khardung-La, the highest motorable road in the world. To pass from Leh into the Nubra Valley, you will need to drive your motorcycle along a road that sits at 18,380 feet. It is surely an exhilarating experience. This eleven day motorcycle tour covers the most scenic highway in the world, the 475 kilometre long Manal-Leh highway. It also covers the pristine Pangong Tso, Nubra valley, and the three highest motorable passes in the world. This tour is designed in a way that you get properly acclimatized to the high altitude conditions of the region. The Passes you would cross: Rohtang Pass- 3980m Baralacha la pass- 4892m Tanglang la Pass- 5360m Khardung la pass- 5360m

Solid riding skills, a sense of adventure and flexibility are a must when taking part in our Himalayan motorcycle expedition, which covers around hundreds of kilometers and considerable altitude differences. The road conditions along the Leh to Ladakh route vary from freshly-paved to rough tracks. While we never actually leave the road, off-road skills can come in handy on some of the tracks that we will ride on. It's also important to note that it's virtually impossible to predict the weather and road conditions in the Himalayas during the months in which the rest of India is experiencing the monsoon. Landslides and abrupt weather changes can force us to change our bike tour program on very short notice. You can certainly look forward to great biking adventure. Adjusting to the altitude - Our bike trip of Ladakh in the Indian Himalayas starts in Leh at 3,500 meters, so it will be essential to take a couple of days to adjust to the altitude. In our experience, everyone will have recovered from any mild altitude-related symptoms - headaches, dizziness or sleeplessness - by then. In the past ten years, we haven't had any cases of true altitude sickness among any of the participants of the similar Zanskar & Ladakh bike trip. Years of riding experience Valid motorcycle license
