Shimla, capital of Himachal Pradesh is a very alluring place possessing the natural beauty and thus serving that captivating nature to its travelers. This place was treated as a summer capital during the British Colonial Rule. The main attractions of this marvelous ancient city are the popular Jakhoo Temple, Viceregal Lodge or Rashtrapati Niwas that is converted into an Advance Studies Institute, Mall road, Annadale that used to be famous for different sporting activities during the colonial rule and kufri, just some km away from the main town. This excursion of 3 days and 4 Nights provides you the perfect and delightful aura of Shimla and makes one contented while they leave.
The tour starts from the country capital- Delhi. You need to travel in a Volvo convenience from Delhi to Shimla. The distance needed to be covered is 341km which needs to be traveled for around 7 hours. You need to travel overnight in a Volvo to reach the Queen of Hills- Shimla by the next day. The sights en route are worth taking a glimpse. The valleys, the roads, the farmlands, should be experienced once in a lifetime. Overnight stay would be in the Volvo.
As soon as you happen to reach the town of Shimla, you are going to be headed straight towards the Hotel where you can take rest and have meals. This day is reserved for Local sightseeing within Shimla. You can stroll through the infamous- Mall Road and buy a stuff of Art and craft as a memory. Visit Indian Institute of Advanced Studies that once used to be the place for the Viceroys during British Colonial rule. This place is magnificent and majestic, including the architecture of that era. Another sight for the day is Annadale, once a popular place for sports within Shimla, played by the royal families of that decade. This place now offers as a playground for playing Cricket. Visit another Tourist attraction posing as popular temples of Jakhoo and Tara Devi. By the time its dusk, revert to your Hotel and stay there overnight.
Today you need to reach a well-known spot, nicknamed as Switzerland of the East � Kufri. Kufri is a small Hill Station which need to be traveled thus covering around 20 km from the main town. Mahasu peak , is the highest peak in Kufri and can be a treat to watch and the sports taking place during winters within this landmark are Skiing and other winter sports. Kufri was once included in the Kingdom of Nepal before the English colonial rule. Other renowed spots within Kufri are- Kufri Fun Campus which is an amusement park, Chini Bungalow popular for the its architecture and the statues, Indira Gandhi Park to enjoy the Horse Riding, Indian Tourist park providing the picturesque view of the whole destination and many others. Return to Shimla by evening and post your dinner move into your rooms and take a nap.
Finally, the day arrives on which you are going to bid adieu to the Queen of Hills- Shimla. Get with your mates in the Volvo and move towards Delhi, post breakfast.

There are two national parks in Himachal pradesh. Both are natural wonders. Himachal Toy Trains Himachal Pradesh has two narrow gauge Rail tracks i.e. Kalka to Shimla and Pathankot to Jogindernagar. On both these lines run the mini trains, popularly called 'Toy Trains' by the tourists. Travelling on these trains is a thrilling experience as the lines, trains and the landscape of charming hills, tunnels and bridges and valleys, which one encounters on the way leaves a lasting impression of ecstasy and joy.
Himachal is a peaceful and hospitable state. The people are friendly and helpful. Nevertheless, visitors are advised not to take unnecessary risk that may lead them to danger or allow/ provokeanybody else to harm them in any way. Keep identity card/passport handy while travelling Some buildings and monuments require permission for photography and filming. Contact the nearest Tourism office or the concerned District Administration for guidance and assistance. Keep your valuables in hotel lockers/safe deposit vaults wherever available. STD/ISD/FAX facilities are available at small booths throughout the state. For medical assistance contact Government hospitals and dispensaries or accredited nursing homes/clinics/hospitals or Call 108 free 24X7 ambulance service. For guide maps and information, contact Himachal Tourism Offices. Ensure that your vehicle is securely locked before you leave it. Don't leave cash or jewellery in your vehicle. Do not encourage beggars. Shop at Government emporiums. Prices are reasonable and quality assured. Himachal Emporium outlets are located at Bilaspur, Chamba, Dharamshala, Mandi, Kullu, Keylong, Reckong Peo, Nahan, Solan, and Shimla. Outside the state, these are at New Delhi, Bangalore and Chandigarh. You can also buy directly from craftsmen located throughout Himachal. But if you plan to carry them overseas, do take a receipt for customs. For electrical appliances, check voltage, 220 V is the standard in the state. Socket type-two pin/three pin., Normal banking hours are 10.00 am to 2.00 pm from Monday to Fridays, and 10.00 am to noon on Saturday. Some banks also have eveningcounters but these rarely deal in foreign currency. Banks remain closed on Sunday and gazette holidays. It is advisable to cover yourself with travel insurance for theft,loss and medi-claim. Unleaded petrol is available at selected stations only. Do not leave your cash and valuables in your hotel rooms. Keep your cash divided in different pockets. Do not trust strangers. During the monsoon season (July-August), be careful while driving on the road because of slippery conditions and land-slides/ rock-falls.
Sunscreen and moisturizing lotion
Himachal Pradesh is cold and as you know cold air can make your skin feel extremely dry, remember to carry moisturizing lotion with you. Kids are generally more prone to dry skin due to cold weather; therefore, it is essential to carry your personal favorite moisturizer. Same goes for sunscreen lotion. Snow reflects sunlight and even intensifies it, so it’s helpful to wear sunscreen when you head outdoors.
Warm clothes
Himachal Pradesh is colder than states in the south and west of India throughout the year. Due to the low temperatures in this region, it is important for you to pack heavy sweaters, thermal innerwear, and woolen socks on your trip to Himachal.
ID proofs
When traveling to Himachal, it is always a good idea to have your government-issued ID proofs handy. You may be asked to produce them at any point, but to ensure a stress-free holiday, remember to carry your PAN card, Aadhar card, driver’s license, or any other ID card.
Appropriate shoes
Considering your itinerary and the weather conditions of Himachal when you are traveling there, do pack appropriate shoes. You may have to walk a lot for sightseeing or trekking on hilly terrain, therefore, choose the most suitable walking shoes to bring along.
Medication
Since most tourist spots of Himachal Pradesh may be located away from the main cities, it is advisable that you carry all your personal medication with you. Also, pack medications for mountain-sickness, along with anti-diarrhea drugs and paracetamol to ensure that your holiday is perfect.
Camera and batteries
In order to be able to capture all the breathtaking sights you come across in Himachal, remember to bring your camera and enough batteries to keep it powered on your trip.
Power bank
Having your phone turned off while traveling to a new place can be worrisome. Remember to pack a fully-charged power bank along with your phone's charger so that your phone is on throughout the day when you are on the go.
