TSO MORIRI – KIBBER TREK

Brief Itinearary
Day 1: Arrive at Ladakh

You need to fly down to Leh by the former hours of the day and pave your way towards Hotel that has been allotted to you. Get assimilated to the weather conditions of Leh and stroll through the local bazaar of Ladakh . Revert to your Hotel overnight and leave for Tso moriri by tomorrow.

Day 2:Leh to Tsomoriri Lake

Once you are done with your morning meals, move past Chumathang and finally arrive at the beautiful sight of Tsomoriri Lake. The whole expedition gets concluded after 6 hours. Overnight stay at the campsite.

Day 3:Korzok to Kyangdam

Follow the topsy turvy curve throughout the trek. You need to tramp from Korzok to Kyangdam, moving through several rocky heads, river and the lake. You can even spot wild ass along the trail. The trek gets over by 5 hours thus moving into the elevation of 4965km. Once you will reach at the end of the lake, set up your camp and stay there overnight.

Day 4:Kyangdam to Skitpodangsa or Nurboo Sumdo

Post your tempting meals, take a brisk walk to Nurboo Sumdo by trekking for about 4-5 hours. You can even have a halt at Skitpodangsa elevated at 4595m. In case you are traveling in July and August then you should refrain from setting up camp at Skitpodangsa due to the rising water levels in the spring. Overnight stay will be at Nurboo Sumdo.

Day 5:Skitpodangsa or Nurboo Sumdo To Getpabuzak

After you get done with the breakfast, trudge towards today's destination - Getpabuzak. This place is situated at an altimeter of 4600m which can be reached by traversing the river with high sandals. Once you cross the rocky pebbles and the aderaline water you are going to reach at Getpabuzak. Overnight stay will be at the campsite.

Day 6:Getpabuzak to Tarangyokma

Post your appetizing breakfast, start your journey from Getpabuzak and finally arrive at Tarangyokma elevated at an altitude of 4731m. Continue your movement towards South thus walking alongside a river. After crossing a plateau and a valley, you arrive at your destination for the day. This excursion will be of about 4 to 5 hours. Overnight stay will be at the campsite.

Day 7:Tarangyokma to Kharsagongma or Parang la base

Today you will be at the same valley thus having a normal walk to reach Kharsagongma. In case the group is small it's better to settle down at Kharsagongma situated at an average height of 4900m. But if the group is a big one, it's better to tramp for the base of Parang La as it's more spacious,situated a bit above the previous destination.

Day 8: Kharsagongma to Takkarzong via Parang La

For the first time in this expedition, you need to cross the glacier along with the river, therefore moving towards South East. After walking for couple of hours, you will witness the marked payer flags from a distance. This place looks splendid due to the scenery and the prayer flags moving along the direction of the wind.You need to descend into the landscape of campsite and stay there overnight.

Day 9:Takkarzong to Thangltak

Post your morning meals begin your trek which is an easy walking till Parangchu. From Parangchu, it becomes a bit difficult thus having an epic climbing to Thangltak. Lovely views of mountains, springs the clear blue sky is worth taking this tough climbing. Stay overnight at the campsite of Thangltak which is placed at an altitude of 4500m.

Day 10: Thangltak to Kibber

At first the alpinism starts with ascending from the campsite for an hour and while you reach the apex, start descending into the village of Kibber. This day gets concluded within 3 hours approximately. Stay overnight at Kibber village, which looks absolutely fascinating due to its surrounding beauty.

Day 11: Kibber village to Manali

As you are done with your morning meals begin your journey from the village Kibber to Manali, thus having a drive for about 4 h 48 min, which covers around 186 km via NH505 and Leh Manali Highway. Reach at Manali and stay at the Hotel overnight.

D12: Departure from Manali

As soon as you are done with your breakfast in wee hours, after that move to your desired conveniences and get going to your hometown. Cherish the memories of this epic journey for the rest of your lives as Manali bids farewell to you.

    Climatic conditions in the high altitudes vary from the plains; take adequate time to get acclimatized to high altitudes.

    Pay heed to the guidelines given by trek leader or instructor in order to enjoy a safe and sound trekking experience.

    Consumption of alcohol or any other intoxicating products are prohibited during this trek.

    Avoid trekking during the nights.

    Consult with a physician if you are fit to undertake the trek.

    The trek takes place through eco-friendly zone; do not encourage littering the local sites or campsites.

    The horses carries only 10kg weight/trekker; be wise with your packing.

    Experience of any high altitude trek at least 1 trek

    · The climber must be fit and have sufficient stamina to cover 5 km of distance in 45minutes without a stress.
    · The climber should be able to carry a 10 kg backpack.
    · Heart problem, high blood pressure, asthma, and epilepsy cannot be reconciled on this mission. The climber must not have the conditions mentioned above.
